Impala SS Aftermarket Suppliers
A list of aftermarket companies that supply parts and seservices for
the Impala SS
The current list is below. If you know of any new aftermarket vendors that
are not list, please add them.
This page is most useful with your help. Please be sure to fill in all fields in
any form that you use, as most fields are mandatory except where otherwise
marked. Also not that there are links under each vendor and each product offered
by that vendor. If you have had any dealings with them, please submit your
thoughts so that others might use your information. Thanks for your cooperation,
and enjoy!
Although I do want this to be a free and open forum for the relative merits
of each vendors products, I do ask that you refrain from making negative
comments about a product unless you have given the vendor an opportunity to
correct the situation. It really isn't fair to bash them in public unless they
have a chance to defend themselves. Also, any entries that are in my judgement
"pranks" or that do do not have valid e-mail addresses attached to them will be
removed at my discretion. Please e-mail me
if you feel you need to sign anonymously.

- From 9caprice1: 20" gold rims? wow!
that's great. do you have a set of four gold teeth to match? You're right,
there is a code of "ethics" for Impala owners as well as human beings Maybe
you'd like to take some notes on both, 'cause gold rims, while on a Toyota, or
something along those lines is okay, on an American beast like the Impala
sounds god-awful. What, no DVD player, or maybe a fully 3-D holographic
display. Maybe we should just go with the spirit of the message board, and do
as Rob says. Through comments, we can tell how parts worked for other people,
and how well certain vendor's supplied them or serviced them. In this way, we
can learn from each other's achievements (and mistakes!) and help the whole
group. Thank you for your comments.

D.T.S. Ring & Pinion Sales
26400 Groesbeck Hwy
Warren, Mi 48089
Phone: (800) - 521 - 0628 , Fax: (810) - 778 - 2630
Comments about D.T.S. Ring & Pinion Sales:
- From Bryan Porter: No Comments I was
wondering how much it would be to have a set of 3.73 gears installed in the
impala ss or have the gears set to me if possible so let me know please.
- From Erik: 1) I had Drive
Train Specialties (DTS) rebuild the differential and change the gear ratio in
my 1995 Caprice, on 2/24/00 @ 98700 miles. 2) Approximately 4 months later and
more importantly with only 3653 additional miles on it, I drove the car across
the country to California. It should be noted that almost 3000 of that 3653
miles was the cross-country trip itself. 3) A little more than 3/4 of the way
across the country, the differential started making a whining noise and
started to produce a slight vibration. 4) I stopped on the side of the road in
Utah, because the noise and vibration was getting worse. I noticed I was able
to move the pinion vertically up and down in the housing approximately 1/8 of
an inch (I was physically able to move the yoke on the rear of the drive shaft
up and down and it was NOT the universal joint). Being out in the middle of
nowhere (literally) and almost to California, I saw no plausible alternative
but to continue driving. 5) Immediately upon my arrival to California, in fact
the next day, I took the car in to a Chevrolet dealer to get the noise and
vibration evaluated. By this time the differential was quite noisy. 6) The
Chevrolet dealer initially advised me that the differential was probably in
need of a complete overhaul including the ring and pinion due to the amount of
miles on the car. I informed the dealer that I had just replaced the entire
ring and pinion including all the bearings and seals a few months earlier. The
dealer suspected a faulty part or a defective install job of the components I
had just replaced. 7) The dealer recommended that I not drive the vehicle for
safety reasons and recommended they disassemble and inspect the differential
assembly to more accurately determine the cause of the noise / vibration.
Additionally, in a speculative conversation with the actual mechanic before
the differential was further inspected, I discovered that we both suspected a
bearing had failed or a another part was defective and the resulting debris
(metal particles) further damaged the ring & pinion and possibly the rest
of the bearings in the differential. I gave my consent to the dealership to
determine the cause of the problem. 8) Upon disassembly of the differential,
it was found that the inner pinion-bearing race was not seated correctly into
the differential housing. The mechanic stated “...there was a small “nick”
present in the race seat [mating surface to the race that mounts in the
differential housing]…” He further stated “…the nick was apparently caused by
a punch [a tool used to remove the part] trying to knock [remove] out the
original race from the housing…” The nick prevented the newly inserted race
from seating properly in the differential housing. The mechanic determined
that the differential failed because the improperly seated race caused the
pinion to become loose in the housing (the pinion was able to move both
vertically and horizontally in the vehicle). I authorized the dealer to repair
my vehicle. 9) After I authorized the repairs I immediately called DTS to get
their warranty department involved (at the time of the failure the work DTS
performed was under “warranty” in both miles and time from date completed). I
was informed that the only way I could obtain warranty service was to bring
the vehicle back to DTS (at my expense) and that they would only be liable for
the parts replaced (not the labor). This is a ludicrous suggestion because in
order to transport my car from California to Michigan, it would have cost me
more than the repairs cost at the dealership. 10) I flew out to Michigan,
visited DTS on 8/11/00 and showed them the parts. I spoke to a sales associate
named “salsesman #1”. He had a DTS mechanic look at the suspect parts and then
he informed me that he would contact the appropriate people of my situation. I
was told there was no need to leave the suspect parts with them; therefore I
brought the suspect parts with me back to California. 11) Two weeks passed, I
heard nothing. I called them on 8/21/00 and talked to “Salsesman #1”. I was
told the owner would be out for the rest of the week and to try back after he
returned. 12) I again waited two more weeks and called back on 9/4/00. I
talked to a salesperson named “salsesman #2” who said, “You would be lucky to
get reimbursed for any of the work you had done because the dealership sold
you a bunch of parts that you did not need at a great expense”. I was very
displeased with his opinion. (I have extensive GM dealer training as a
mechanic, in addition I am a practicing Mechanical engineer and hold a degree
of Masters of Engineering from MSU and University of Michigan) and told him
that I watched the mechanic disassemble the differential and I saw the
misassembled parts first handedly. The removed parts were not re-useable. 13)
Finally, on 9/11/00 “salsesman #2” called and left a message for me to call
him at DTS. When I contacted him, he told me that the only thing they were
liable for was the ring and pinion, nothing else. He said he was going to
forward my case onto their “warranty” department for follow up. I have heard
nothing since this date.

They deal in all types of rear axle components. Including parts for Impala SS.
Posi Differentials, Ring & Pinion, Axle Shafts, Installation Kits. If

The years of knowledge that Mr. Harmon brought to this new buisness in car
restoration is quite helpfull. Any question about your Impala SS or parts
needed can be answered by Mr. Harmon himself. He has a hands on policy in his
Co. and can be found there most generally. Top of the line quality aftermarket
parts. The Co. does not handle engine or brake restoration parts. Prices are
the best I've found.

- From bryan: No Comments can you
put the super chip in a 1991 caprice ss also need a catalog for 94 to96 impala
ss
- From Tony: Hey I just bought a 96
Impala SS. The thing is stock with 63000 miles on it. I am more then happy
with it but I would like more info about the Superchip. What is involved in
setting up the car with a chip and how much will it cost me? What then would
be the results? Please help a rookie out. Thanks, Tony
- From mn mark: I was a victom of FULSE
advertizeing! Superchips claimed to be able to do it, but could not deliver!
It did make a world of a difference on my stock SS! a best of 13.92! I would
have been happy if they didnt make the fulse claims! go to www.fasttoys.net
they R still makeing the FULSE claims.
- From Tim Cleland: Hey Mark
Krech....were you not the same asshole who was singing Superchips praises not
too long ago? Everyone on the Naisso tech forum was telling you to go with Ed
Wright, but nooooooo!
- From mn mark: supercvhips screwed me!
they claim to be able to make programms for cams but the can't. They had my
programmer for 3 weeks and after my cam was installed I called and called and
finally talked to someone that said that the didnt Know how to do it! I
already had spent $350 for the Tuner they shipped without a cord, then I
updated it for $150 for a couple little mods and then I get a cam and they are
stumped. So I called Ed Wright he says he has a core and can program it for my
cam and ship it that day. Another $350 plus overnight fees still well worth
it. A local with his 99 mustang GT got a S/C and the chip was from superchips.
Turned out they shipped the Wrong chip and the mustang blowed up,holes in
piston. he luckily got a new motor under warranty.F-superchips When I visit
Florida i plan to throw a brick through there window.LOL
- From Bryan Azar: How do I buy this
Device.
- From Matt Gehman: Please send
catalog
- From David Smalley: No Comments I
have a bone stock "94" with 18,000 miles. I plan on install ing Flowmater Cat
Backs with SLP or some other ceramic or the best headers, best cold air
induction, how do you suggest we excite this ignition? Down the road I may
consider a safe NOS system or a whipple charger and some suspension tricks.
- From M/T2001 owner: Superchips makes a programmer for 96 B-body
OBDII vehicles. Its the MicroTuner2001,this programmer is the best! It makes
more power all through the RPM range, not just at WOT.plus the ability to
calibrate changes in gears and tires.you can remove speed limiter and adjust
rev limits and WOT shift points. the shift firmness is not removable but it
not constant either, the harder you push the gas pedal the harder it shifts,
after adding the performance program &$500 in bolt ons the car ran
14.4's@94mph all day long consistantly.

Comments about Stealth Ram Intake:
- From Tony: Please fill in a rookie
car buff who purchased a 96 SS recently and is interested in more knowledge
about this product. 63000 on car, fill me in.
- From Michael P. Pappas: Although I
had some trouble receiving the products, only because I ordered the polished
kit that came from two factories, this product is great. My first noticable
difference was in the throttle position at high speed. No more tired feet on
the highway. The installation took about 20-25 minutes. I would recommend this
product as a must have. Dyno results went from 294hp before to 317 after. We
have some other tweaking to do so I expect those numbers to rise.
- From TERRY: DO YOU HAVE A CATALOG? IF
SO, HOW CAN I OBTAIN ONE? I'M ALSO A NAISSO MEMBER I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT
THE DISCOUNTS. THANKS!!
- From Darryl Miller : I
installed the SSRI in my black 94 SS and was instantly impressed with the ease
of installation, looks, and especially the performance it added. Mr Lum was
super quick and super nice on the customer service end of it. I strongly
recommend it.
- From Teddy Mueller: Is there any
photos available of the intake, also how did the test results come out.
- From Darryl Lum: Possibly the
best intake system for the Impala SS, short of forced induction. Cold, dense,
unrestricted ram air through a 34" wide stealth duct. Currently in prototype
and dyno testing, production to begin May 1999 For more information about the

I am the proud owner of a 1994 SS. In my humble opinion these cars are the
most gorgeous machines GM ever built! Why they ever stop making them I'll
never understand. Dissapointed W/ the look of their new vehicle that bears the
Impala name.

the things sound good. If you could send me any info about the products, that

- From Jim Jackson: No Comments This company is a new comer to the
Impala SS market. They specialise in building and fabricating, tuning, and
modification. They are not the typical shop,in that they dont like to do the
same things everyone else are doing. If you are looking for something to truly
set your car apart, then call these guy's.One of the partners has a 96 that
goes 12.90's at 107.5 without the usual cookie cutter bolt ons.He is also
working on a awsome ram air hood that just blows away anything else out
there. They are just looking to see if interest is high enough to put in
production. They also build one of custom stainless exhuast systems. The 96 has
a pair of 4" ovals that come out the center of the bumper. It looks awsome with
the car lowered and the ram air hood the built.

Comments about Eibach Springs:
- From John Zaniewski: Just a quick
addition to my previous comment. I just changed from my stock tires to
Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP P255/45ZR17 dropping the car an additional 1/2 inch
(26" wheel diameter vs. 27")and the binding at full lock is now gone. Also
note previous email is NG, use this one.
- From collins norm: No Comments can
you send me a catalog i want the price for a package for a chevy caprice
1991model
- From Brian Dibucci: I highly
recommend the Impala listed springs which lower the vehicle .5", as oppossed
to the Caprice listed springs at 1.5". The vehicle still maintains a good ride
height(only .5" lower than stock), however the rate of the springs combined
with an aggressive aftermarket shock gives you noticeable handling
improvements, yet still rides great! I've been driving a 94 9C1/LT1 Caprice at
work since it was new, and I wish I could put the Eibach's in it!
- From Brian Dibucci: No Comments
- From John Zaniewski: These
springs in combination with Hotchkis upper and lower control arms and front
and rear sway bars give my 95 SS a very nice ride. I was supprised by the fact
that the springs did not increase the harshness of the ride but be careful of
full steering wheel lock turns. I have stock wheels and tires and the
suspension binds slightly. 30 degrees away from lock and its OK. As far as
looks go, the stance of the car is agressive looking, with about 1.00" to
1.50" reduction in height. Even with the minor problem, I would still
recommend this product. Part # 3837.140
- From Trent Warren: If you are running
275/40-17's on your Impala and you put these springs on, get ready for some
speedbump scraping! In my personal opinion, I don't think these springs are
all that tight! I ran with the Eibachs and then ran with the GM Police springs
for our cars and I believe the police springs give you a better feel for the
road. If your car must be lowered, follow Scott Mueller's advice and "cut"
your stock springs or the police sptings. (Increasing the rate even further!)
The rear springs are VERY loose at full shock extension, (i.e. when your rear
wheels leave the ground) I lost my upper insulators this way. I hit a
crossroad and cought a little air and when I returned to the ground the rear
of the car made an awful noise. I took it home and checked it out. Both
insulator were missing and the left rear spring had scooted off of the upper
mount!!

Car is really mean at take-off. Too much Fun!!

- From NEIL REED: The best of people to

we would have much better products. Thanks METCO!

Comments about Zoro Hyper Exhaust:
- From w.f.thomas: did the crossover
pipe reduce or eliminate the 1600rpm "booming" sound from inside the car with
the impala exhaust system? With the entire zoro hyper exhaust system, has the
sound inside the car--especially the 1600rpm "boom"--gone down, been reduced,
eliminated?
- From Bob Van Tol: I can say
nothing but good things about Zorro Muffler. When I asked if I should replace
my entire stock exhaust system they suggested that I keep the stock pipes but
put in a crossover and add low restriction mufflers. They did very good work
with the crossover being done in stainless to match the stock system and the
mufflers installed were magnaflow. Two years later one of my Magnaflow
mufflers failed, I went back to Zorro and they replaced it basically for free!
I like the performance increase and the sound of this system. Bob Van Tol
- From Adam Zaprzala: They
installed my SLP headers with great service and no problems, at a VERY
reasonable price. Asst. manager even let me use his personal car to grab some
plugs while the manifolds were out.
- From Gary Flock: Carry Magnaflow
mufflers and also do 304 pipe/welding. Very professional workmanship without
that pocket gouge. Ask for Gord Pollard and mention I recommended you. (e-mail
me so I know :) He has a large selection of mandrel bent pipes and can do some
custom mandrel work.

Comments about ATR Applied Technologies & Research, Inc.:
- From KAI: No Comments I Live in
North Brunswick NJ. I recently bought the atr quad system for my 94 SS.I can
not say enough good things about ATR and their products. As for the sound,it is
real deep like it really means business but not offensively loud in the
least.I was a little worried about it being too quiet in the quad version but
am totally pleased with ATR's recommendation.
- From MIKE BARRETT: I have a 95
SS in Randolph, New Jersey. I'm ready to upgrade to a cat-back system. Does
anyone in the area have either the ATR dual or quad setup on their Impala? I'd
like to listen to the set-up. ATR actually advises Not to buy their dual
system for the street because it is extemely loud. Any info would be
appreciated. Thanks, Mike.
- From will northup: the
website for ATR is www.atrperformance.com
- From Michel Mondor: There is an
web address for ART, http://www.professionalresults.com/impact/atr/ but there
is not much on it. Could be my web browser not working propely.......?
- From matthew: this company is
in my hometown and and is received as the largest grand national supplier in
the country(their main business)...the owner has a impala ss and has a full
stainless fabracation shop and mandrel bending machine...they did a custom
exhaust and downpipe on my 3000GT VR4 and the work is flawless.... i saw the
question about the company and thought i would add a little...very professonal
company

- From Cary
J. Sak: Daytona Dash makes a great wood dash package for the SS. I have
two other cars 81 VETTE and 92 GMC pickup with the rose wood packages on both.
They have Rosewood(my Favorite), mahogany, and carbon fibre dash kits. This
product also has a life time warrantee too( I believe. NO HOLES to drill they
use 3m double stick. Comes with instructions and a cleaner(for you armor all
freaks!) Call 904-238-8998 and ask for James in sales.

- From Derik T. Price: Air
Intake - Wow! I too had to wait, for 'my check to clear', but man was it worth
it... My '94 SS has the small MAF and with a bit a force and careful
alignment, I used the stock seals on either side of the MAF to make the
install factory smooth and sweet to see. Their inclusion of small chrome
filter for the air pump was a nice touch too. After a few days the K&N
cone almost sounds like a faint blower intake suck with the hood closed -
nice!! (Following the directions for install, I was less than impressed - and
be sure to leave the old filter box plate, securing the computer, in -
seemingly contrary to the instructions.) But, in short, this product is high
quality, it sounds great and with a little work looks really nice. Derik T.
Price - Fairbanks, Alaska.
- From Len Roland: The
owner, John Perry is absolutely great. I called and we talked for a good 30
minutes on mods to my car, a 9C1 Caprice. His car is a rolling test bed and
everything is checked on a chassis dyno for performance. He knows his stuff
and his car has been featured in High Tech Performance magazine. Call for a
terrific catalog. He also groups his mods into performance kits that are
outlined in the catalog and they sell an in dash tach kit that comes with a
pre-drilled bezel, AutoMeter gauge and a wiring harness. It's not the cheapest
at $175 but you don't have to worry about drilling bezels and JC Whitney
gauges.

Comments about HOTCHKIS PERFORMANCE:
- From JOHNNY /SSIMPALA N CAPRICE
OWNER: i highly recomend the Impala Bay Brace by hotchicks perform. You
can tell the didifference in your handling and stablity, just make sure you
buy it from a reliable company like NASSO. THE reason i say this is because i
first ordered the brace from Racenet1.com. Big mistake!!!!!! This company
didnt only send me an incomplete package but never the less lied to me and
told me they would send me the missing items ,which they never did but also
never responded to my emails or my messages left on there answer machine which
they never answer. Except when your ordering an item and you get a call back
from them to verify your credit card number. BULLS#$T Companies like these
shouldnt even advertise themselves as an OFFICIAL SS IMPALLA STORE. THERE SOME
GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- From Lloyd in WI:
http://www.hotchkisperformance.com/
- From Les Gerver: No Comment I am
curious about the alteration to the factory engineered crumple zone when
adding the strut tower brace. It seems to me that triangulating and tying the
"nose" together would somehow over ride the built in crumple zone. I am
currently toying with the idea of installing one, but this concern has me
undecided. It looks to me that in the event of a frontal impact, the addition
of this brace may increase the odds of the occupants to incur injury. At the
very least, if no one got hurt, it certainly looks as if the addition of the
brace would cause greater vehicle damage than if there was no brace installed.
By tying the front together, I'm sure it increases stability a little, but I
wonder if this is a fair trade off regarding occupant safety and potential
vehicle damage. As a remedy for this, I have fabricated my own brace (strictly
for show), that has the underside of the tubes milled out in a series of slots
and holes to add its own crumple zones. I tested this device on a "jig"
attached to a fork lift and it looks very promising. Again, this is strictly
for show, as I drive my Impala on the street. General Motors has engineered a
fine automobile to begin with, and I doubt this brace modification is of any
real value to folks who drive their cars on the street and obey traffic laws.
The addition of your rear Trailing arms, good springs and shocks do make a
difference that can be felt all by themselves.
- From Dave Ko: I own a 96 Impala
and I have been interested in the strut tower bar and trailing arms for my
vehicle. The only thing that is keeping me from getting these components is
the price! I think that $1300 is a bit ridiculous for hollow metal. Are the
prices of the parts going to go down at all?
- From LEN ROLAND: They
currently offer upper trailing arms p/n 1205 $228, lower trailing arms p/n
1305 $250, the complete package p/n 1807 $?, an engine bay brace p/n 2005 $?
and front and rear swaybars p/n 2205 $529.95. All these parts fit both Impala
SS and 9C1. They are also available thru Summit Racing for considerably less.
You'll have to call for a curreny price.

Comments about Callaway Cars:
- From Jonathan Parks: Callaway is
the best company I have come to deal with yet. I have a 1996 Callaway Impala
SS and they did a few more upgrades after I bought it. They were great to deal
with both on the phone and in the shop (great tour). From the owner to the
receptionist and everyone and I mean everyone in between very nice people. If
you want all their great upgrades and want to ask questions they are there. I
am here to answer some as well.
- From Milton Bordwin: Recently bumped
my front which will require new grille. Anyone sell an aftermarket plain,
aero-effective black grille for '94 Impala SS, without any logo or ID on it?
Thanks. MB
- From Les Gerver: I had Callaway
install a set of their rear upper and lower trailing arms, Eibach's and Koni's
on all four corners on my '96 SS DGGM. The change was imperessive, definately
noticeable. While waiting for my car, they gave me a tour of the shop,
included me in their lunch time order, and let me sit in their library to read
up on all their data. Even got to pick Reeves Callaway's brain a bit. These
folks are very courteous, professional and just plain nice. They spent
considerable time with me answering questions during a very detailed
inspection of their facility. As they like to put it, "It's the Calla-WAY". I
realize their prices are a bit high, but you get what you pay for. The total
installation including a wheel alignmnet was quite reasonable. I have since
intalled their Honker induction and am quite satisfied with the result. I
would recommend Callaway to anyone whose wallet can stand it.
- From Damon: Do you know of an
after market intake kit for a 1991 Caprice with a TBI 305. Preferably one with
a K&N cone filter. It does not have to be for that car, something from
another vehichle that will fit properly will be fine.

get one? I tried classic industries, but they are on back order, and can`t

bucket. A rear deck and glove box would be nice, but also in that same
problem.
- From Bob: I am in need of a chrome

the rocker panel, this must be a rare part because it is hard for me to find,
I know it exists because I saw it in an ad for the Impala from 1965.

Comments about Emblems:
- From Larry: No Comments Does
anyone carry some type of insert I believe plastic which inserted in the
rear window of a 1994 caprice will give the look of the impala ss which has
the flat angled look. I saw a 94 caprice with this insert making it look
like an s.s. but I could not find the owner to learn where he got it. Thanks
. Larry
- From Angel: I had some people
tell me my add about the emblems is a little confusing so I am back again to
clear it up. The Parts that Hubbard's carry are for 1958-76 BUT, the owners
of thelater cars 1995-96, are putting 61-62 console emblems on the fenders
(behind the wheel well), 58 quarter emblems on the fender, (behind the wheel
well) and 62 or 64 trunk emblems on the right side of the trunk. I don't
know about you, but I have been to car shows and these cars look bad!
- From Angel: They have killer
emblems that alot of owners are putting on the later Impala. Trunk emblems,
fender emblems, even console emblems that or being placed on the lower
fender behind the wheelwell. Floor mats with embroiderd logos of Impala SS.
Their products are for Impala's 1958-76. If it is being reproduced they
should have it or will get it. You need to get their catalog!

Comments about RAM AIR SPECIALISTS:

the ram air system and where might I purchase it?
- From kevin: there long
tube headers fit great no mods this is a great product.
- From Jim Callaway: We now also
offer long tube ceramic coated headers & cats.
- From Scott Lloyd: I recently had
the pleasure of installing this sytem on my 95 Impala. I was very pleased when
I opened the box and discovered what a top quality system this ended up being.
The system installs easily and it sure does look sweet hooked up. I love
opening the hood and showing it off. You sure can feel the difference driving
down the road. These guys are great to talk to as well. They are willing to
take the time and answer your questions and when you hang up you are left with
the feeling that they will take care of you if something goes wrong. I need to
let them know that they should come up with a decal (3d in red)that you can
put on the air dam to draw attention to the scoop. I took some mail box
letters, painted them red, and stuck them on the there myself. It's really
draws attention to the scoop and is kinda cool as you walk up to get in your
rod (guess I'm kinda a show off but ol well).
- From Christian Reynolds: Mr. Callaway
sells a fantastic product! The kit was eveything he said it would be. For
$239.00 bucks you cant go wrong, my stock imp ran a 14.96, and after the ram
air it ran a 14.51. I just need to talk to him more about the ported Lt1 head
setup he was spoke about when I ordered the ramit.
- From Gary Grant: What a pleasure to
deal with a company who provides a great product and great service.I noticed
an immediate increase in seat of the pants acceleration.
- From Jim Callaway: Please make
note: Ram Air Specialists has a new website http://www.ramairss.com and e-mail
address ramair@ramairss.com Give the site a visit if your interested in seeing
how easy and affordable it is to add some real HP to your SS.
- From CLARENCE S. BROOKS: I was
surfing the net and came across this system. Plan to purchase it and installit
in my Impala SS as a christmas present to it. Go to there web site and check out the information for yourself. This design
resembles the system that Oldsmobile employed on the Cutlass(W30,W31) back in
68 and 69. The duct is attached to the air dam on the Impala giving the same
affect enjoyed by the WS6 Firebird and Camaro SS.

Comments about Dynomax Performance Exhaust:
- From Russ Williams: My Dynomax drones
constantly during mild driving. Very loud. Tried adding a cross pipe which
imroved it some, but it's still too noisy under normal driving. I expected a
rumble when accelerating but not the constant DRONING under normal freeway or
around town driving.
- From Phil Matsen: I have a 95 SS
and an 86 Monte SS. Bought a system (for the 86) from Dynomax and the welded Y
broke within 2 months. Got no where with Dynomax customer circus but received
a credit from Summit. Had a local speed shop make a decent exhaust. Would not
recommend any of their products.
- From Scott Rudolph: Most people overlook the
dynomax exhaust. I think it is the best system out there. It has superior
sound quality over the highly over priced Borla system and gets away from
that(every car has them) flowmasters. The best part about this well
constructed system is the sweet 21/2 inch oem looking stainless steel tips. I
have had this system on my '95 for over 2 years and it still looks brand new.
Check it out!!
- From Dave Ko: I purchased the
dynomax catback system about 6 months ago and I am very happy with the
performance difference from stock. Many friends were trying to talk me into
getting the flomaster exhaust but that was to loud. The rumble in the dynomax
is perfect. Now all I need is a blower! Keep up the good work!
- From Robb: Have had a stainless
dynomax system with stainless ultra-flo mufflers since day one and have had
exceptional performance, comments, with this product. It was a cat back kit
system from walker exhaust and is highly recommended for increased
performance. One added benefit when installing,we noticed factory installed
left side over the axle pipe is almost squashed flat, more than half size of
the original OE pipe size. Well worth the investment approx. $1200.00
canadian.
- From EDWIN CINTRON: I own a exhaust
company located in naperville IL. We pride ourselvs on using the phrase. ( we
are not a muffler shop we are performance exhaust specialists ) we focus on
performance cars only and feture DYNOMAX product. I currently own a 1996
Impalla ss we even call one of our guys DYNODon. impalla and have a DYNOMAX
system on it since it has had about 80 miles on it. we have installed systems
on about 10 impallas so far and I can not tell people enough about how this is
the best performing, sounding and priced system for this application. I would
like to know if you have any sugestions on how we can get the word out. We
would like to increase our Impalla customer base base and can do what most
people look for after they purchase a nice peice like an impalla. Good people
to install their system that care about the type of car they drive. we even
save (remove not torch)their old system (incase thay want to restore it

- From Nick Macaluso:
Dynomax offers an Ultra Flo muffler cat-back system(2.50" OD) for the '94-'96
Chevy Impala SS. A '94 Impala SS was tested versus the OE system on a Dynojet
dynamometer at Paul's High Performance in Jackson, MI. Peak HP gain was 16.6HP
@ 5000 rpm. Peak torque gain was 17.4 lb-ft also @ 5000 rpm. Avg. HP gain from
2200 to 5300 rpm was 10 HP. Avg. torque gain from 2200 to 5300 rpm was 12
lb-ft. The system features 2.50" straight through design Ultra Flo
mufflers(stainless steel), straight through resonators(2.50" flow tube), and
304SS tailpipe tips. The exhaust pipes and tailpipes are .060" thick
aluminized steel, mandrel bend. All hangers match the OE locations. The sound
quality is much improved over the OE, but is not obtrusive on the interstate.
You can cruise at 75 mph all day with only the slightest hint of exhaust
rumble. In city driving you can certainly tell the difference in sound by
pressing the accelerator, but it won't get you in trouble with the local
constables. An early problem with failing rod hangers on the outlet end of the
mufflers has been solved and redesigned product is available. The telephone
and fax numbers shown are for the Dynomax tech line.

- From Dave: I have the Fiberglass
Hood Scoop on my 95 Impala, but I can't seem to have it fit flush with the
passenger side, it's about a 1/4 of an inch above the panel. The factory
springs seem to be more tension than what the hood requires. Any suggestions
on a less tension of a shock for the hood.
- From Jerry: I'm looking for info
about the ram air system? What is it and how may I purchase one for my 1995
Impala SS
- From scott thornton: Hello, could
you tell me if you or anyone offers full ground effects for the ss's i've been
looking but can't find?
- From Teddy: No Comments, I am looking for
a 2" cowl induction hood for my 94 ImpalaSS. Do you know where I might find
one?
- From T Bergeron: The hood fit
great, the ram air filter box fit like crap. The round outlet for the MAF was
out by over 1/2 inch. I ordered one of the first kits and when I called I was
told that all installations required some "field modifications". I have since
built my own lower plennum and now things fit fine. The performance gains of
the ram air coupled with the Arizona speed and marine exhaust was quite
noticable in a seat of the pants way. But I thought the $1300 price tag was a
little steep.

- From Kirk K. Ronolo: OH MY
GOODNESS! I thought that this only happened to me. My misfortunes with BG
happened a while ago but it was the same result. I oredered some floor mats on
the 28th of Dec. They were supposed to be shipped in 3-4 weeks, in
mid-February I called and Cheryl said the Mats were backordered and that they
should be in that week and that she would send them second day air when she
got them. Well after numerous phone calls to no avail, I gave up and chalked
it up as a loss. Then one day in late April I received my floor mats, they
were the wrong color but I kept them anyway. If I had known about this BG
people earlier I probably would have taken some sort of Legal action! AVOID
THESE PEOPLE LIKE THE PLAQUE!!!
- From ondre rudolph: I JUST
BROUGHT A 94 IMPALAS SS AND I'M LOOKING FOR A GOOD MECHANIC, WHO IS NOT HIGH
BUT DO A GOOD JOB. IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE E-MAIL ME BACK! THANKS
- From Skyline: It's been several
months now, since I disputed my CC charges from BG and then all of a sudden I
get another CC charge from Marietta, GA ....but this time it's from Cheryl
?????? Ent. The only person I remember doing business with in Marietta, GA is
BG, which did have a Cheryl working there taking phone orders. Needless to
say, I believe Cheryl ?????? Ent and BG are the same. Watch out!!This seems to
be too much of a coincidence.
- From Skyline: Stay Away! My
initial order was sent to me incomplete, but was charged the full amount. I
called and talked to Cheryl, which lied to me over and over, saying that my
carpet will be in any day and ship 2nd Day Air....after two months I decided
to dispute my charges with my credit card company. I noticed that I'm not the
only one that fell into this.....I should have checked her before.
- From KIDFLASH: STAY AWAY. POOR
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT! Ordered a trunk lid carpet kit and a
set of floor mats. Was told the mats would be shipped next day and the
monogram on the trunk mat would take 2 weeks, got the trunk mat the following
week-no floor mats. Waited a couple of weeks-nothing. Called-got answering
machine, left message asking about the order-no reply. Called week later, left
another message.......no reply. Did get billed for full shipment on creditcard
statement. Last message had same result. Had to despute charge with c.c.
company. Just received my credit this week. Still looking for some mats. DON'T
WASTE YOUR TIME!
- From Fred U.: Hah! Pretty funny
there mister,.... Jim,...Haas everybodies money.I dont care if iff your next
catalog has over a million items. This "company" has horrible cust.service.
They rely on one time customers and not customer satisfaction. They dont
realize that Imp.SS owners, share these sorts of experiences as well as good
ones. I recommend that anybody that is thinking about purchasing anything from
B.G.C. go else where. Its not worth the time and headache.
- From tc: Too many negative
commentaries to not be true. Stay away from this one
- From " achi" Earl Yamada: I am
having a dificult time to get any response from them. i was in georgia on in
may and went to thier shop on may 10 1999 and put an order of just about
everything they have for impala ss and i paid them in cash .. my order is
about $1,700 of parts and acces. i recieved a few items and out of 4 seperate
items that were shipped they got 2 of them wrong, i have emailed them numerous
times and have not gotten any response. they are friendly people and was very
profesional, that is until i gave them the money.. i regret doing buisness
with them and if there are any other venders who would like to sell me custom
billet parts i am interested in numerous items including what was already
ordered from bowling green..I hope we (me and bg) can rectify this situation
soon but it does not look like it.. i would like to call them how ever the
time difer from where i work is about 5 hours and when i am at work i cant
call them so i have to deal with them by email. i will plan a trip to thier
shop soon. as soon as this order is completed i will clear it up on this page.
untill then I DON'T RECOMEND ANYONE USE THEM FOR ANY PARTS THAT THEY CLAIM
THEY SELL. DO NOT SEND THEM A CHECK OR CREDIT CARD OR ANYTHING UNLESS YOU LIVE
NEXT DOOR TO THEM. VERY DISAPOINTED CUSTOMER LAS VEGAS NEVADA,
- From MIKEY: I have to agree about the poor
customer service. They act like they have everything in stock then you have to
wait while they locate your part. They are only the "middleman". Why not deal
with the companies direct and save yourself time and money.
- From gsg: Terrible cutomer
service!!! Ordered parts in September 1998 which they charged to cc
immediately, received partial shipment in November. After numerous phone
calls, finally received a credit to my cc for remaining upshipped parts in
April 1999. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

- From Dave: No Comments Hi - I
guess i felt like an asshole when i saw my own writing in regards to Rksport's
clear tailamps. I got em lol and they are real nice looking. By the way you
cant find em cheaper then what Rk has offered. Sorry Rk but u peoples are good
in service and you will be seeing me buy some of that new stuff they have on
their product list.
- From Dave : No Comments To all Rksport
buyers, I have been buying aftermarket products on my 95 Impala SS for over
three years, I had ordered a pair of clear tailamps which were offered in late
March, now all Rksport tells me is that they are backordered. If they are
backordered why arent they still on their website, I guess they felt the price
they were advertising was to low so now their thinking twice. I still have my
order, how long do u think they will take to rub me off. I'm not going
anywhere, I am patient - will you be? By the way they are so overpriced ,
think twice before where you spend your money. Dave NY

- From Shawn Massoudi: MODIFIED MOBIL
1 OIL CAPS FOR IMPALA SS NOW FOR SALE FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!! I have been
making these modified caps for a little while now and I have been getting
steady orders. These oil caps are the same that you will find on the 1997 and
later model Corvettes. It reads: "ENGINE OIL MOBIL 1 5w30 FACTORY FILL.
NOTICE:SPECIAL ENGINE OIL REQUIRED." The Mobil 1 Decal on the oil cap is
colored in with red and blue. It looks great under my hood and it will under
your hood also! I developed this modification after there were many complaints
from service personnel at GM dealers that were not aware that Mobil 1 be put
into LT1 engines that are in our Impalas. If you want to make sure that Mobil
1 gets put into your engine. Email me and I will send you a Mobil 1 Oil Cap
for $20.00. This includes the parts, labor and shipping and handling. Thanks
and I will look for your order soon.

Trust me, this ram air kit is the real thing. After a brief installation time
of only 45 minutes, I was rolling on the road. After a recent car show with
about 1500 entries, I was constantly asked about the ram air kit. These guys
are very helpfull and if you want a cheap way to blow the tires off of your
Impala, this is it
- From Oliver Osterhues: This
product definitely stands up to its promises. Easy installation, all the parts
fit. Very noticable increase in mid- to hi-range torque. I also noticed the
car kicks up gears faster at highway speeds without having to lay so far into
the throttle. Makes the engine sound better too! RAS also has outstanding
service. On my way home on Friday night, I was driving through a construction
zone and took a curb faster than I should have. It destroyed my filter
cannister and I had to drive from Chicago to Louisville on Monday afternoon. I
E-Mailed RAS on Friday night and Royce had the spare Fed-Ex'ed out on Saturday
for Monday morning delivery! Thanks for the great service guys!

- From Eric Sundberg:
more than one person would be involved. As a customer I am to blame. I was
*WRONG* for dealing with LG Motorsports. I would like to appologize to *Karen*
who, Lou told us was on *THE RAG* when she decided that, as an owner of this
world class company known as LG Motorsports, she did not have to fill our
order as placed. I appologize for not accepting full responsibility for the
fact that I was unable to use the items, though clearly they were not built
for my Impala, without calling and complaining. What was I thinking? Why would
I expect the same product I ordered to be the same product they delivered? I
appoligize for being rude when the definition of *RUDE* and *VERBAL ABUSE* is
as follows: (1) Any pointed question that one expects to be answered
truthfully. (2) Any question which questions the competence of a company who
cannot fill a simple two item order. (3) Any civil words used in the form of a
complaint about such an order. I would like to appologize also because UPS is
also blamed for the first ,wrong, heavy item having been packaged in such a
way that, should they handle it as they would any package, the result in a
torn gasket. I appologize for not believing the UPS was at fault for not
inspecting the contents of an unopened package to insure its having been
properly packaged. I truely appologize for assuming that UPS would deliver, in
a timely manner, only those packages which were given to them for delivery, as
they did. I especially would like to appologize for expecting the President of
a company to be a man of his word. I now realize it was unreasonable for me to
expect results just because the *President* of LG Motorsports gets involved.
What was I thinking? After all I am just a customer. Again, I appoligize. How
could I stay mad at a company that would appologize to me *AND* send me a
complimentary free gift? Certainly I should appologize for not having said
*THANK YOU* for that gracious gift. What exactly was that gift Lou? Well,
maybe UPS lost it. Or maybe its one of those *the gift is in the mail*
routines. We appologize for not having received you gracious gift. That most
certainly was *OUR* fault now wasn’t it? Unless, of course, you intended those
ill fitting, not made for my Impala, parts to be accepted as gifts? Again I
appologize. Because they are still sitting in the office, where you were
instructed to send UPS to pick them up, boxed and ready to go. Last but not
least, you can certainly be sure that we are so sooo *SORRY* for having ever
placed an order with LG Motorsports and we appologize for being sooooo
demanding that we expected quick, efficient and competent results simply
because we responded to an add in a magazine. Unfortunately, we will probably
do it all again. We are gullable and easily swaid by ads that speak of parts
for our Impala. We encourage anyone who wants to deal with a company who would
rather blame you for their inadequacies then take responsibility for their
actions to deal with LG Motorsports. Go ahead. We highly recommend this
company as one who will place blame squarely where it doesn’t belong. On the
customer. We’ve been there, done that. Bill & Sandy Clisby
- From Michael Gregory: Their web
page address for the online catalog is www.lgmotorsports.com. I noticed that
Gigliotti forgot to mention it. Mike.
- From Lou Gigliotti: We at LG
Motorsports work very hard to please out customers, including the Clisbys .
The girl that Mrs Clisby was refering to was my wife, Karen . Mrs Clisby was
about as rude as any one could have been. After taking as much verbal abuse as
karen could handle she let the insult fly. She regretted it later and I
apologized for her to Mrs Clisby . We rectified all of the problems and even
gave her a free gift for her troubles. Some of the trouble was caused by UPS
but all of the problems that were related to this customer that were the fault
of L G Motorsports were taken care of as well as anyone could. We are sorry
that this happened but this in not our normal routine Thanks to all of our
good customers and Happy Hot Rodding Lou Gigliotti
- From Bill & Sandy Clisby: + ORDER
NOT PROCESSED SAME DAY + ORDER DID NOT ARRIVE AS PROMISED + IMPROPER PACKAGING
= DAMAGE + PART ORDERED DID NOT FIT + DID NOT CARE TO MAKE IT RIGHT + NO
APOLOGIES GIVEN NOR OFFERED + WHEN TOLD OTHER IMPALA OWNERS WOULD BE WARNED,
OWNER DID NOT CARE, SAID *OH, WELL, WE HAVE PLENTY OF OTHER CUSTOMERS.*
November 1996 - We called LG Motorsports to order Rear End Cover with Gasket
and covers for the Gas and Brake pedals. The Rear End Cover w/Gasket arrived
about 10 days later with pedal covers on back order. On Thanksgiving Day we
started to install new rear end cover. Upon taking off old cover and gasket we
discovered the this was the WRONG Rear End Cover (circumference just a little
too small). The next day we called LG Motorsports to discuss this issue with
them, we spoke with a female who was very rude and when asked to speak to the
owner of the company she said that she was one of the owners. She insisted
that they did not send the wrong part. Wanted us to speak to a tech. No way a
tech could fix this problem over the phone... When we told her that we would
tell other Impala owners, she said *OH, WELL WE HAVE PLENTY OF OTHER
CUSTOMERS.* We finally spoke to a different manager, who informed me that they
would send out the correct Rear End Cover and it would arrive the next day. Of
course this did not happen, and when it finally arrived the Gasket was
damaged, so we were delayed even longer. When the Gasket finally did arrive we
were able to install the Rear End Cover with Gasket. When the pedal covers
arrived, there was another problem. The gas pedal cover would not fit on the
Impala. It was way too short. We then had to call the President of the
company, who tried to inform us that it would fit. They claimed they had
installed the very same pedal covers on another Impala SS. We weren’t going to
install a gas pedal cover that was way too short for our Impala. So we were
inconvenienced again. We had to take and trace the our gas pedal and the gas
pedal cover that they sent to us to prove that the did not fit. After many
phone calls back and forth, during which we found that they were finally
making one to fit, we were promised that they would Express Mail overnight the
correct part. Of course, this didn’t happen, so we then called them again, and
was informed that instructions had been given to mail it Express Mail but they
had failed to do so. This company has a very unusual way of doing business.
ALSO ALL PHONE CALLS WERE MADE AT OUR EXPENSE, BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE A TOLL
FREE LINE. They also said that they would send UPS out to my wife's office, to
pick up the wrong parts. Instead, UPS showed up at my home. To date, this box
is still in my wife’s office. Sorry to have taken up so much space but we
thought some of you might be interested. Bill & Sandy Clisby

I own a '95 Impala SS and I bought a G2 high flow air intake system from L.G.
Motorsports and since I installed it, I have noticed a dramatice improvement
in performance and by replacing the silencer ontop of the intake manifold, the
engine is a much prettier engine than before. I highly recommend it!

Comments about The Wheel Polishing Shop:
- From Brian : I have a 1995 Impala SS
that has some sort of oxidation on the wheels. I believe the laquer is still
intact but ican't seem to get the "cloudy" appearance off of them. It appears
on the outside face that is visible from the road. I suspect a car wash
sprayed wheel cleaner on them when the wheels were still hot and this "burned"
into the wheel a residue. Please help me I don't know how to make them
beautiful again.
- From Eddie Lopez: To whom it may
concern: I have a 96 Impala SS and would like to get my wheels polished or
chromed. What would you suggest?, and please give me estimates about prices.
thank you Eddie

Comments about HP Motorsports:
- From John Killeen: I had
installed several different sets of rear trailing arms on B body cars and have
found that their attention to detail is magnificent. The lower arms have bungs
welded to them to prevent the rear sway bar bolts from squeezing the arm and
eventually causing an annoying rattle. The price is tough to compete with as
well.
- From Bryan: HPM sells Eibach, Koni, BAER Racing brakes,
Forgeline/Simmons/ROH wheels, axle items, Tremec trannys, TrickFlow heads,
Edelbrock, Flowmaster, Borla, JET, Vortech, K&N, March pulleys & Red
Line Synthetic oil. They also do their own engineering of F-body strut braces,
driveshaft loops, subframe connectors, upper & lower control arms (my car
was the guinea pig for 96 B-body). Jeff Braack is in Performance Sales &
should be of great help. The upper/lower control arms go for $179 ea &
they would be willing to do package deals for them plus springs, wheels or
whatever. If you live nearby they also do installs for all equipment. UPS
& Express shipping. Also getting setup to stock Edelbrock & have to
place major $$tocking order. Call now to add Impala headers to their Xmas

HuntingtonBeach, CA 92647
Phone: (714) - 848 - 5515
Comments about JET Performance Products:
- From rodney: im not one to bad
mouth something i know nothing about....but.....the two times i called jet and
told them i have an imp and needed some imfo on a chip or some advice the guy
was kinda shity with me. i also read somewhere the jet programer/ chip
whatever it is was great if you wanted your imp to have less H.P.
- From Ed: Bought the JET chip for
the Impala...It is now in the corner of my garage on the floor collecting
dust. Totally unhappy. No improvement in performance whatsoever over stock
programming. Can I get a refund or are you going to hide under the usual "no
refund on electrical parts" banner.
- From Scott Rudolph: Hey Impala SS owners! Don't
go buy those over the counter programs. I have a program burned by Doug rippie
Motorsports and I couldn't be more happy. first to second gear shifts are
unreal. If i'm on the throttle I get second gear tire action no problem. Also,
check out (TPIS in Ckaska,MN) They burn custom chips too.
- From bigmike: whoaaaaaaaaaa! slow
the f*&k down!dont buy this chip! like others my check engine light is
poping on and off constantly....and worst of all the trans will gear down out
of the blue and try to get into 1st at 55! what the f*&k!? once while in a
parking lot under light throttle my SS took off! scared the Sh*t out of
me...must be the "advanced performance timing" jet adds...stay away from this
chip like the plauge! i would sell it but probably safer to burn it
- From Fred: JET claims that you can get up to
22 more horses but owners who have dynoed their JET equiped cars have reported
a loss of power rather than a gain. All magazine reviews that have reported
gains have been on JET's dyno. Can you say fixed?
- From Mike Kamalian: have the
inline chip thing. damn check engine light keeps coming on and off by itself.
jet has no clue nor do i. i know its installed right. anyone wanna buy it? am
getting the hypertech programmer. all this is on a 96 ss.
- From MIKE McFADDEN: TAKE YOU TO
THE CLEANERS. JUNK FOR THE PRICE.DOUBLE CHECKIT TWICE.THANKS MR. JONES
- From Joel: The Jet airfoil that uses no
screws or bolts to hold it to the throttle body does not FIT. It is about 1/2
an inch to big for the intake hose to fit over and has to be modified a great
deal to make it fit and for the hose to fit and seal to keep dirt out. We
called them with the part number and application and asked them about it. They
said it was the right one!! So I do not think I would trust thier power
programmer or anything they make..
- From Michael : No Comments I don't trust this
company. History of deceptive advertising and using their own dyno in magazine
articles.

used this stuff called Carbon Tech that I was really happy with. It leaves a
Carbon Fiber type look but reasonably inexpensive about $40 for a 11x22 sheet.
Many people have commented on how much they like em, even had an argument with
a guy saying that they are not Carbon Fiber. Note: Make sure you make

then paint the edges black dress's it up nice.

happy with it, traveled three good long trips with no problem. From North
Carolina went to Texas for Arlington II and back, to Huntsville AL and back
and the last trip I went to Miami FL and back. I am satisfied with SVI Kit,
look very good under the hood and like to recomand to other that interested.
- From John Harris: Good company,
superb management.
- From Roger Harrison: My company, SVI performance, makes the only
kit on the market for the Impala SS utilizing the Vortech blower. We use the
S-trim compressor running at 7.5 lbs of boost, and the kit is complete with
everything you need for a clean and effective installation. This is not a
simple installation, but it is proven in more than 25 installations so far;
Vortech, which has seen and tested our installation, refers all their SS
Impala calls to us, and installers like Geoff Skorupa at Performance Technical
Center are very familiar with our product. You should see 40% horsepower
increase; with headers (we recommend Arizona Speed and Marine) and Borla
exhaust, you should see about 400 horsepower at the flywheel. We have kits for
immediate shipment and are happy to talk with anyone interested, either over
the phone or via E-Mail

exhaust well and not deform the pipes.
- From John Perri: ESP Custom

Intake system and are designing a Tach kit for the '94-95 Impala's. ESP is a

- High-Flow Air Inake System - product type is Intake System, and the
price is $179.75
Comments about High-Flow Air Inake System:
- From Garry forman: Instead of
the traditional Camaro 1LE elbo or plugged Impala elbo, ESP takes a unique
approach. They supply a Corvette Throttle Body Adapter, which does not turn
as the elbo does; it goes straight forward and adapts the oval throttle body
opening to a circular 3-1/2" opening. This piece eliminates the "Home Plate"
baffle. It includes a MAT sensor and has an opening for the distributor
vaccume hose. Next comes a mandrel bent 3-1/2" aluminum air plenum. This
part connects to the throtle body adapter then makes a smooth 90 degree turn
toward the MAF sensor. It has a wrinkle finsh black powder coating and looks
like it came from the factory. This piece eliminates the 1st base/pitcher's
mound baffle. At the far end of this is a stainless steel and rubber coupler
for attaching the plenum tube to the MAF sensor. On the other side of the
MAF, a 9" K&N cone filter is attached, replacing the factory air box,
and a small clamp on K&N filter for the AIR pump. This piece does *not*
poke through the LH fender; it sits where the factory air box was. On the
negative side, it is not drawing cold air the way an ASM or Evergreen system
would. On the positive side it eliminates a 90 degree bend in the air flow
that other systems introduce. Also on the positive side, it does not require
any holes to be drilled! With the potential collectable value of an Impala
the last thing I want to do is start detroying original parts. Horsepower
gains are claimed to be 15-20, which puts it right in line with ASM and
Evergreen systems. My own "seat of the pants" dyno testing confirms this to
be true. Also worthy to note is the folks at ESP are wonderful to deal with.
I already had K&N filters purchased through the SuperStore, so the sold
me a system, less the filters, for $149.00. The quality and workmanship of
this system is excellent, the service great, the look is "factory
experimental". I am very pleased.

Comments about 3.42 gear kit:
- From John Perri: The 3.42 Gear
kit is a complete package with GM gears, gasket, installation kit with
bearings, and ABS sensor ring. All you need is the fluid. The 3.42 gear
greatly increase throttle response while reducing your 1/4 mi. ET by 2-3
tenths. Highway rpm is increased by only 200rpm. 3.73 Gear kit will reduce
1/4 mi. ETs by 3 tenths and raise cruise rpms by 350.

- From Steve Poole: Please give me your
opinion on the best supercharger to put on the 1996 impala ss. I would also
like to know about intercooling. I have a 100hp nitrous system on the car now.
I lost the motor last week with 20,000 miles on the car. I was told by the
installer that the pistons might not be able to hold the nitrous for very long
because they would become brittle due to the extreme heat caused by the
nitrous. let me know your opinion. Thanks.

TRICK FOR THE BUCK. (use at your own risk. if your not mechanicly incline, do
not attemt.) LT1 350(K&N filters are a great investment with proven
results) 1.)purchase a K&N stock box air filter. 2.)remove air box and oem
filter. 3.)on the lf & rt lower portion of the box cut a rectangle hole
below the ribs, full lenth and about 2" deep. remove the front tube.
4.)disconnect the ground battery wire. while grounding one hand, with the
other remove the mass air flow housing.(always make sure your properly
grounded when handling the sensors, and be very careful.) 5.)remove the sensor
from the housing. Bolt the housing together, then cut the center aluminum out.
with a drill and a sand drum hone the center to a larger diameter. work your
way from #40 grit sand paper to a finer cource. also remove the honey combe
piece. when complete reassemble and install. 6.)remove the head lite in front
of the airbox and cut out the baffle sheet of metal behind the h-lite below
the top crossmember tie bar. Then remove the seal on the bumper below the
h-lite. Place black electrical tape on the bumper where the seal used to be to
still give it the black out look, but increase the air flow. 7.)reinstall
every thing but the H-lite seal. 8.)remove the blk flexable liner to the lt of
the lite next to the radiator. 9.)then right below the bumper cut a hole in
the front blk plastic splash shield. 10.)ready, set, GO!! you will feel a
great big differance in performance. And remember you heard it here first. for

my 93 LT1. The cam I got didn't have the corner cut for the cam retainer. When
I called they told me to use an old style timing set. When I pointed out that
there is no rear ring gear to turn the water pump shaft, they told me they had
me return it. 6 1/2 weeks and three more phone calls later they did credit my
card.
- From Sean: Maybe I
was a little harsh on the guy at LPE, but that is only because I held them to
higher standards then some "shadetree" outfit. They did correct the cam
problem free of charge, but I have yet to recieve a credit for the chain set.
I kept the guide plates since they were only a $15.95 investment. I just felt
upset that the information I recieved was in error. Maybe it was just the
salesman's inexperience. I do not know
- From Sean: Before I
start, I would just like to say that I do not like to rant and rave or dwell
upon an issue. However, I do believe that criticism in certain instances can
be constructive. I once considered Lingenfelter Performance Engineering to be
one of the most reputable automotive performance vendors, but now that has
changed. I ordered a camshaft, springs, lifters, pushrods, titanium retainers,
timing set, guideplates, and a few other items from Lingenfelter back at the
end of Jan. 1998. I specifically told the sales technician that the vehicle
the parts were for was a 1996 Impala SS. I was very enthusiastic about having
these parts installed, along with some AS&M headers, in my vehicle. When
it was time to install the new cam and timing set, I found that neither part
fit the vehicle. When I called Lingenfelter back up to tell them that the
parts would not fit, the salesman asked me what the part numbers were and what
year was my vehicle. I gave him the part numbers and repeated to him that
these parts were for a 1996 Impala SS. He then told me that these were the
correct parts for the vehicle. I then called my mechanic back to relay this
information to him, and my mechanic told me the guy was full of B.S. My
mechanic then called the salesman personally. One hour later, the salesman
called me back and told me that he had spoken with my mechanic, and that he
had sent the wrong camshaft even though I had specified what year and model my
vehicle was. He then told me that he did not have a timing chain set that
would fit the vehicle. This information would have been extremely useful
beforehand. To make matters worse, I had asked him while I was placing the
order if the guideplates would require any machining of the heads to accept
screw in studs. His answer was no, but anyone reading this knows that this is
not true if they have looked seriously into modifying an Impala SS. I asked
for a refund on the Timing chain set, and he said that he would issue a credit
on my credit card. He also stated that he would make the necessary
modifications to the camshaft so that it would fit my 1996 Impala SS. I boxed
both of the parts up that day and shipped them out via Express Mail for next
day delivery. I talked with the salesman on the telephone, and he said that he
would send the cam out UPS Red Label Next Day Air. I tracked the package, and
they received the parts the following day, which was a Saturday. The cost to
send the parts to them this way was $37.60. I called to confirm that they
received the parts only to find that the salesman had not even opened the
package that was clearly addressed to him. I asked him if he had received the
instructions that I had enclosed in duplicate with the cam and timing set. He
said no, and that he would go in the back and retrieve the timing chain set
and instructions. The instructions were to ship the cam out UPS Red Label/Next
Day Air, which is what we had discussed on the telephone. The cam got shipped
out UPS ground that day, and I have yet to receive it. My mechanic called me
up to say that he had not received the cam yet. I called the salesman back at
Lingenfelter, and I asked what was the tracking number for the package. He
said that he would talk with the shipping department and get back with me.
Three hours later I called him back and politely asked if he had obtained the
tracking number yet. He said no, but he put me on hold and then gave me the
number. I entered the number into the UPS tracking website, and I became very
upset. The package was sent out ground and not Red Label as previously
discussed. I tried calling back, but the salesman was at lunch. I called my
mechanic and he said to talk to the guy’s boss, and that his boss probably
told him to send the package out by ground to save money. There is a time to
be cordial and then there is a time to be really pissed off. It is quite
obvious to me that being polite with these people will only keep getting
yourself screwed. Question? If I send the cam to him Next Day to fix a mistake
that is his admitted fault, do I really want to be slapped in the face and
have the F**KIN thing sent back to me ground. Who is going to pay for my
rental car fees while I have to be delayed another week due to some ridiculous
B.S. I believe that the people at Lingenfelter think that they can live off of
the Fame they have achieved and the rave reviews that the editors in Car and
Driver give them. You would figure that such a place would have achieved such
prestige by caring a little about their customers, but obviously they don’t
give a SH*T!

I hjave a '95 SS. Vendor has added an air intake system of his own design plus
added performance wires. Difference is remarkable. Mr. Prince really knows his
stuff. I believe he holds the record for the quarter mile. His rates are very
reasonable, too. I plan to add an exhaust system from him as well.
- From Brian Prince: Has been
in business for eleven years. On the cutting edge of performance from turbo
charged, super charged, or naturally aspirated. Vendor owns a 95 SS with
strategic bolt-ons has achieved 14.29 with no computer enhancements and with
factory tires. Still in research and development for lower E.T.'s and higher
M.P.H.'s. Performance products available for the heavy weight contender range
from custom air intake pipes, custom exhaust systems, to a full line of
transmission up-grade kits and "stall speed converters". Full line of high
performance bolt-on parts for your Impala such as: 342/378 gearing,
aftermarket camshafts, roller valve train components, modified mass air flow
sensors, fuel regulators, MSD ignition conversions, aluminum LT-1 cylinder
heads, phlenum porting, tachometers, corvette floor shifters. N.A.I.S.S.O.

- From Craig A. Thompson: I
installed a 'Vigilante' 9.5" 2600 stall speed converter in my '93 LT1 Vette.
It was one of the best, if not the best, single performance part I purchased.
It reduced by 1/4 ET by at least .5 and my 60ft. by .25-.30. Everyone that
see's my street legal Vette race at street night can't believe my 60ft times
nor my 12.05@113.43 1/4 mile times, especially in an automatic. They ask if
I'm 'spraying' or have a supercharger. I would recommend this torque converter
to anyone serious about performance.

- From Bill: Anything from these
bozos is an "at your own risk" drill. Zero product support. And they won't
even tell you that their PPIII product will not work if you've used the 350HO
cam from the GM Perf Parts. It's really a 276 LT4 cam and don't even think
about spending money on their stuff if you've done anything at all to the
internals.
- From T. Bergeron: IF you have a
'94 impalla and use the power programmer kiss your ABS breaking system
good-bye. After swapping in three units with hypertech directly I had to buy
the Abbott Enterprises reluctor sensor modyfier to regain my ABS breaking
system. Other than this (minor) glitch the programmer worked excellent.
- From Sean Samuel: If
you want to do some serious modifications, then the PP+ is for you. I noticed
that a lot of people seem not to like the PP+, but I guess that is because
they have not used it for any other purpose than to obtain horsepower and
torque. I have made full use of the unit by doing the following: 1) used it to
reprogram with a custom cartridge for a CAM & Headers, 2) used it to
correct for 3.73 rear axle, 3) used it to reprogram REV limit & raise
shift point after I added titanium retainers, new springs, and 1.6 roller
rockers. 4) used it to reprogram for different tire sizes, 5) used it to turn
on cooling fans at a lower temperature. I am not an expert by any means, but I
do believe that the PP+ is a lot more practical than sending your PCM off
every time you do a mod. Additionally, scan tool capabilities are forth
coming.
- From larry glick: Dont buy one,
go to your GM dealer and have the Service Department do the reprogramming for
free. If your car is a 96 the difference is worth the 45 minutes. Also it
still drives great. Also you can install 1.6 rockers and increase the overall
lift/duration of the cam for less than the cost of the programmer. GM parts
for 1.6 ratio rockers are less than $260.00. Have fun.

- From Mark R. Michna: The PP+ for
the '96 Impala is a useful tool. The shifts are more firm, but the power
increace is barely more than adding a 160 Thermo. I ran with 160 Thermo and no
PP+ for 6 months, no troubles. It is a versitile tool, great if you have a
gear. You can make more power(marginal)with a Z-industries, but you can't
select anything without sending the PCM back. Reprogramming via modem??
- From Pete Duro: The Hypertech
Power programer is a good unit.It will turn your cooling fans on earlier but
will also raise shift points, Air/fuel mixture...etc.
- From Henry Brigham: I ordered one of
the Hypertec units #349752 for my 1996 LT-1 through Lingenfelter. The only
problem was that the plug in socket would not match the number of pins in the
socket in the car. Upon further checking, it seems that Hypertech needs to
update their unit. Lingenfelter was very nice about refunding my money and
said they would call me when Hypertech modified the unit.
- From Don R Simmons: I have the
programmer. It does nothing to the car but turn on the cooling fan sooner.
When my motor was stock it was OK. You should tell all the LT1 owners of the
problem. Do you know any one that wants to buy a programmer?

Comments about Edelbrock Corp.:
- From Mark Isaac: Has anyone
installed the Edelbrock cat-back system yet? Was wondering if the sound is
more like the Flowmaster or the Dynomax Ultra-flo.
- From thomas briones: I have
had the edlebrock tes (headers) on my 96 for two years now and have no
problems with corosion or anything else. although i would rcomend coating the
headers. without the coating there will be alot of heat. one big problem i had
was the airconditioner hose that touched a header pipe. i bent it out of the
way but i did not notice the upper a-arm rubbed a hole in it. so watch out for
this .I had to have the hose custom made .I would also recomend instaling heat
shielding around any hoses or wires that may come in contact with the headers
and around the hard brake lines near the ABS box.
- From Darren Pupo: I purcased a set
of Edelbrock headers through Evergreen (very good service) I spent the extra
bucks for the ceramic coating throug HPC. Upon recieving the headers and
reading the enclosed instructions, they go on to say if you have the headers
coated you will void the warranty, I would have liked to have known that
before we took that step. But on with the problems, the A.I.R. fitting on the
left header had it's share of less than quailty control and the bottom line is
the coating in my opinion is what caused that unnessary grief, the right side
hit just about everything in it's path, AC lines, sensor wires etc., bending
the alternator bracket was another whole bunch of bs for the price of these
headers one should have been supplied, when yhey say it's a do it yourself
project they mean it because if you take it somewhere to have it done they'll
tell you to do it yourself, you won't want to do this project on the ground
you;ll need a lift, alot more tools than the instructions say and for that
matter you can disregard the instructions if your mechanically inclined
because common sense will guide you better than the few vauge pictures that
are included with this product. Other than the A.I.R threads being bunged up
from the coating process and the vauge instructions this is a quailty product
and seems to make a noticable amount of increased low end toruqe, but it is
going to be at least a 3 hour project without the coating-in-the-threads
problems that I had. Good Luck and enjoy
- From Vance Navarrette: I have
purchased and installed a set of ceramic coated headers. The headers were
purchased through JEGs, and are nice looking units. The instructions were
satisfactory, and all the necessary parts were included. If there was anything
wrong, it's that the instructions made the job more difficult than it needed
to be, and I ended up omitting several un-necessary steps, such as rerouting
wires and removing plugs for the install, etc. 1 Year later, the headers still
look great thanks to the ceramic coating. None of the bolts have fallen out,
and spark plug access is actually improved over stock. Overall I am pleased,
and would recommend the product to other owners in pursuit of performance.

- From Dave Schneider:
I had three problems that I wanted to share with others, namely, that the
headers I got did not include the necessary A.I.R adapters, that the
illustrations showing where to bend the large alternator bracket were
worthless, and, most importantly, that there is clearance problem with the
a/c hoses, which in my case resulted in a hole being burned through the hose
- which the dealer would not warranty.

- From Jeff Fallert: please put your

hp. to 150hp. Running 90 on it now. Any other parts that you think I should
add to this list any and all help would be great. thanks
- From Steven Bauman: I just had
a 383 stroker built with a turbo technology turbo kit I have got to say that
they know what they are doing. Everyone at MTI worked hard to make the system
work well and it did. Try these guys out.
- From Kurt Cameron Boland: I never did
get a refund! They got my Money and the part and I got the shaft. I hear
comments on then from people who go to them in person and maybe they are good
to your face. I listened to there promises that they would get my Engine brace
out for over six months! Suprise, suprise, the same time that you have to
report credit card billing problems!!! If you do deal with them and have any
problems REPORT IT TO YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY IMMEDIATLY!!!!
- From Kurt Cameron Boland: I ordered a
tower brace for my Father's Inpala ss as a Birthday gift. It arrived damaged
and They were of no help trying to get UPS to fix the problem. This was over
three months ago. I called them numerous times to get either a replacement or
a refund and they still have not gotten it strait! They are worthless!!
- From Schaun Gallagher: MTI has help
build one of the fastest impala's on the internet! This Paxton Novi set up is
definitely a one of a kind pony killer! MTI knows SS's.
- From Mark R. Michna: Motorsport
technologies has a new location, an unused IM-240 testing facility. They have
a chasis dyno!! Great Impala knowledge. Highly recommend.
- From Jeff Gatcha: I had my 3.42
gear installed at Motorsport technology and they did a GREAT job. They were
fast, efficient and let me watch the entire process. The install went
flawlessly, and I am VERY happy with it.

- From Bradley Burkart: I
installed the everGreen ColdAir Intake on my 96' Impala SS... It looks
excellent, the system is very easy to install your self and come with a good
set of plans...It looks like it was a factory option...date entered: 9-24-96
- From Gary Bartlett: I have purchased
and installed the Evergreen Cold Air package, Z PCM and FLOWMASTER Cat Back
from Evergreen Performance and find their sales service, delivery time and
after sales service to be way above the norm. The MODS work as advertised and,
best of all, their prices are the very best available. Ask for John or JB.
- From Frank Halley: Additional
comments about the Z-PCM. The other major improvement is in the downshifting.
At highway speeds, depressing the accelerator immediately gets the car out of
overdrive. At slow speeds, WOT gets the car into the right gear much quicker
than stock.

- From Mike Calanan: NOTE: Cost
listed is for Impala list members, so make sure that you ask for the Impala
list price when ordering. This K&N filter, P/N: 62-1030, is a perfect
fit into the AIR pump hose for those that are removing the stock airbox.
Although P/N 62-1020 has been recommended in the past, JB of Evergreen
advises that this new part 62-1030, which has a larger, chromed base, fits
more snugly into the hose than the smaller-base breather 62-1020. Both are
the same price. Staff was very helpful, and are 'net-friendly (soon to have

Comments about "Z" PCM:
- From Robert Cheek: You PCM can
either be sent in or you can replace it on a "core" basis and send your PCM
back to Evergreen. The shift firmness is the big change: the shifts are good
and firm now. There seems to be a gain in mid-range power as I was
definitely getting a lot of wheelspin today! The fans are also reprogrammed
to come on at a lower temperature (for use with a 160 degree thermo, but it
can be changed to any values you want), and the A/C is supposed to be
unconditionally cut out at full throttle. Mods for major changes (cams,
gears, blowers, etc.) are $100 each. Definitely a nice product.

Comments about Baer Racing:
- From Jeff Grimes: Installed
the Pro+ kit that consists of Alcon "13.5x1.25" two piece, 48 vane slotted
rotors (upgrade), Alcon four piston calipers, Alcon-Pagid RS-421 carbon pads
(upgrade) with pre-burnishment services to bed the rotors and pads in front
and braided stainless lines. I also ordered the replacement slotted rotors and
braided stainless lines so the integration would look uniform. The
installation instructions were straight forward with a list of tools needed,
supplies(Castrol SRF HD brake fluid) and torque specifications. In just a few
hours, the transformation was from good braking to Aircraft carrier cable
STOPS.Be forwarned, your passengers wiill have PVH's (Permenent Vertical
Hairdos), because the hotter you get these LA brakes (land anchors), the
better they stop. You will have to readjust your driving skills for high speed
SA's (surface assualts) and scan your rear view mirror more frequently because
most of the boneheads you enguage in tactical highway warfare and NCG's
(Negative Cluster G's) won't be capable of matching your deceleration. The
last Mustang I dethroned was at least 5 links behind and almost had a new
emblem (Impala) on his hood. Once he recovered, he sure was white ! Three
cheers for Tood Gartshore and the NGGC's (Negative G Ground Crew) at Baer
Racing. A special thanks to Tood for your time and help- Dude-you give good
BRAKE! *for those of you who have Colorado Custom Wheels, if you are using
17's and you decide to use thes big brakes, you will have to mill the center
hub of the wheel .125" larger and 1" deeper for the hub on the Baers

- From hammer : No Comments geoff
skorupa turned my 4000 street missle, into a screamin 12 sec vet killer!
thanks for everything p.t.c.!
- From John Taylor: I first saw
Performance Technical Center in this review of aftermarket suppliers. At the
time I was just looking for someone to install a set of AS&M headers and a
cold air induction kit. I called Geoff Skorupa on the phone and told him my
intentions. A few months later, when I was finally ready, I took the car in.
PTC did a wonderful job on the installation. I also had a chance to view PTC's
scrapbook which included numerous modifications of corvettes, firebirds,
camaros, and impalas. Well that was two years ago! Since then Geoff's
installed a 383 stroker kit, a rebuilt transmission, torque converter, 3.42
gear, 3.5 inch aluminum driveshaft, and some other goodies. I feel comfortable
talking to Geoff because he takes the time to explain details and answer
questions consumers might have. Although PTC specializes in performance GM
cars I've noticed a few fords around. Only problem I've ever had is when I
didn't plan ahead. I was leaking transmission fluid last summer and I got
nervous. I wanted to get into the PTC shop as soon as possible, cause I don't
trust anybody else. It took 3 days! That's not bad huh? I could have been in
sooner but PTC is always fixing somebody else's mistakes. You know, some guys
try to save too much money and end up spending more in the long run. Oh yeah,
the transmission fluid came from a damaged seal. It was replaced and I was off
and running 13.6's consistently on dot tires in street trim.
- From Mike Lonergan: I have many performance items installed by
P.T.C.,Geoff is the best.My car has a Vortec supercharger, Carrol superfueler
w/3 extra fuel injectors, A.S.&M.headers, 2 1/2 dia. exhaust, and many
other items, all these things make the car VERY fast. After going to the
Arlington impala meet and many different car shows I feel Geoff`s work looks
far better than the other "respcected tuners". Best of all my car ran
perfectly the minute I drove it out of his shop, and has been perfect for
6,000 miles of very HARD driving and racing. For those considering
modifications, ask around you will hear of his good reputation, and look at
his work you will see why he will do all my future work.
- From Jeff Curran: While not a
manufacturer of high performance parts, PTC is a one stop source for the
highest quality aftermarket parts for GM cars and trucks. Please contact Geoff
Skorupa, and look for his monthly article '84 and Up in Vette Magazine.

- From Mike Kelly: AS&M
headers, pain to install, documented 5/10 improvement in the 1/4 mile. Nice
look (red ceramic), lots of good comments at shows. If you ever plan to change
rockers, do it before you install these headers
- From Guhan Raghu: The covers
look great, but are a real PAIN to install. Once the wiring harness is
relocated, the installation is a snap. I am planning to have the covers
chromed, because the polished aluminum looks a little foggy.
- From MIKE McFADDEN: GETS WET IN
THE RAIN.THEY SAY NO WAY. WAY TOO MUCH MONEY.
- From Colin Outtrim: I have a
94 Impala SS. I added the ASM headers in May 1995. Immediate torque response
and change in sound was noted. I love the underhood look of these ceramic
coated units. The quality of the welding and finish is great. The only problem
I have is a small exhaust leak at the rear of the right bank where the small
air fitting links in at the back of the engine. I may have to add some sealer
compound. Do you have a suggestion?
- From Petes Auto: When i
installed the asm cold air package there were no problems with instructions. It
is 1 3inch hole to drill and they give you a paper template. The only problem
you will have with asm is getting the parts they take forever because of high
demand they can not keep up on orders.
- From Chad R. Fiebiger: I have to say that next to the supercharger,
the headers are the most attention grabbing item on the car. I don't think
that (at any show etc.) anyone has ever not comented on how unbelievable they
look! Thanks again gentlemen.
- From CHAD R. FIEBIGER: First, ASM Rocks!!! My 96 Impala has a
Vortec supercharger, ASM coldair, ASM headers, ASM throttle body, reworked
computer, and a Borla exhaust. All done by ASM. I can honestly say that ASM is
the best company to work with. I have not had any problem at all. My car was
the first cold air induction to supercharger set up done by ASM. Keep up the
good work! Chad R. Fiebiger
- From Robert Cheek: They were very
helpful throughout the entire install process. The guy I talked to (Ed) seemed
to know the Impala pretty well. They did try to convince me that the cone
filter to the intake would fit when it just did not, however.

Comments about Engine covers:
- From Ray Campbell: I have
the 96 Impala SS. The engine covers were designed for years prior to 96. The
way the EVAP CNSTR PURGE SOL VLV is mounted, the passenger side cover will
not fit. The valve has to be dismounted & stuffed down next to the
injectors. Take care not to strain the hose connections as they will become
disconnected and your Engine light will come on. To reset the light you have
to disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 15 min. You may have
to reroute some of the hoses for this valve. This item took the longest time
for delivery (about 3 1/2 weeks). I belive it is because they sent the
plates out to be buffed. You also have to relocate the injector wiring
harnes (this takes a LOT of patients - very tight quarters). They really
improve the looks of the engine.

- Cold Air Package - product type is Intake System, and the price is
$350
Comments about Cold Air Package:
- From Robert Cheek: Beautiful
package. Starts off with a straight chromed pipe which is connected to the
MAF in the stock location. Connection is via "NAPA" hoses with screw clamps.
The computer is relocated to the top of the wheel well, and a chromed
mandrel bent elbow (with AIR attachment) then goes to a custom, bolt-in
plate on the inner fender. You need to drill a 3" hole in you inner fender
to get the plate through. The 7" K&N cone filter mounts inside the gap
between the bumper and the wheel well.
- From Brett A. Rudolph: The kit is
of excellent quality and was easy to install. Without being in to big a
hurry, it only took about 1.3 hours to install. I puchased my kit from ASM
for $325 and it included the 1LE elbow which in earlier kits I understand
was not included. One small correction however on the size of the hole. It
needs to be 3.5 inches instead of three. On the downside, the instuctions
are not as well thought out as the kit.
